She named him Ganesha and instructed him to guard the door while she bathed. When Lord Shiva returned, Ganesha, following his mother’s orders, stopped him from entering. Unaware that Ganesha was his son, Shiva became enraged. A fierce battle ensued, and in his fury, Shiva beheaded Ganesha with his trident. When Parvati saw this, she was heartbroken. She demanded that her son be brought back to life, threatening to destroy the world. To appease Parvati, Shiva sent his followers to find the head of the first creature they encountered. They found an elephant, and Shiva placed the elephant's head on Ganesha’s body, bringing him back to life. Thus, Lord Ganesha was born, with the head of an elephant and the blessings of his parents.

शिव पुराण में भगवान गणेश के जन्म की एक प्रसिद्ध कथा है। देवी पार्वती स्नान करना चाहती थीं, और उन्होंने अपने सेवक नंदी से दरवाजे की रक्षा करने को कहा। लेकिन नंदी भगवान शिव के प्रति वफादार थे, इसलिए जब शिव आए, तो नंदी ने उन्हें अंदर जाने दिया। इस पर पार्वती नाराज हो गईं और उन्होंने अपने लिए एक रक्षक बनाने का निर्णय लिया। उन्होंने स्नान के लिए उपयोग किए गए चंदन के लेप से एक छोटे लड़के का निर्माण किया और उसमें प्राण फूंक दिए। उसका नाम गणेश रखा और उसे दरवाजे की रक्षा करने का आदेश दिया।

जब भगवान शिव लौटे, तो गणेश ने अपनी मां के आदेश का पालन करते हुए उन्हें अंदर जाने से रोक दिया। यह नहीं जानते हुए कि गणेश उनके बेटे हैं, शिव क्रोधित हो गए। भीषण युद्ध हुआ, और क्रोध में आकर शिव ने अपने त्रिशूल से गणेश का सिर काट दिया। पार्वती ने जब यह देखा तो वह बहुत दुखी हो गईं। उन्होंने अपने पुत्र को पुनर्जीवित करने की मांग की और यहां तक कि पूरे संसार को नष्ट करने की धमकी दी।

पार्वती को शांत करने के लिए शिव ने अपने अनुयायियों को भेजा और पहला प्राणी, जो मिला, उसका सिर लाने को कहा। वे एक हाथी का सिर लेकर आए, और शिव ने गणेश के शरीर पर हाथी का सिर लगा दिया और उसे पुनः जीवन प्रदान किया। इस प्रकार भगवान गणेश का जन्म हुआ, और वे अपने माता-पिता का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त कर अमर हो गए।

ভগবান গণেশের জন্ম

শিব পুরাণে ভগবান গণেশের জন্মের একটি প্রসিদ্ধ কাহিনী রয়েছে। দেবী পার্বতী স্নান করতে চেয়েছিলেন এবং তার সেবক নন্দীকে দরজার রক্ষা করতে বললেন। কিন্তু নন্দী শিবের প্রতি অনুগত ছিল, তাই যখন শিব এলেন, নন্দী তাকে প্রবেশ করতে দিলেন। এতে পার্বতী রাগান্বিত হলেন এবং নিজের জন্য একজন রক্ষক তৈরি করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিলেন। তিনি তার স্নানের জন্য ব্যবহৃত চন্দন পেস্ট থেকে একটি ছোট ছেলে তৈরি করলেন এবং তাতে প্রাণ সঞ্চার করলেন। তার নাম দিলেন গণেশ এবং তাকে দরজার রক্ষা করতে বললেন।

যখন ভগবান শিব ফিরে এলেন, গণেশ তার মায়ের আদেশ পালন করে শিবকে প্রবেশ করতে বাধা দিল। এইটি না জানার কারণে যে গণেশ তার পুত্র, শিব ক্রুদ্ধ হলেন। এক ভয়ানক যুদ্ধ হল, এবং রাগে শিব তার ত্রিশূল দিয়ে গণেশের মাথা কেটে ফেললেন। পার্বতী যখন এটি দেখলেন তখন তিনি অত্যন্ত দুঃখিত হলেন। তিনি তার পুত্রকে পুনর্জীবিত করার দাবি করলেন এবং পুরো পৃথিবী ধ্বংস করার হুমকি দিলেন।

পার্বতীকে শান্ত করার জন্য শিব তার অনুগামীদের পাঠালেন এবং প্রথম প্রাণীটি যা পাওয়া গেল তার মাথা নিয়ে আসতে বললেন। তারা একটি হাতির মাথা নিয়ে এল এবং শিব গণেশের শরীরে হাতির মাথা লাগিয়ে তাকে পুনর্জীবন দিলেন। এভাবেই ভগবান গণেশের জন্ম হল, এবং তিনি তার মা-বাবার আশীর্বাদ নিয়ে অমর হলেন।
